December 2 was the opening night event for the Festival of Trees. This annual event supports Children’s Services at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. Festival of Trees is organized by Providence General Foundation, the fundraising entity for Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

In order to host more guests for the event, it was moved from Xfinity Arena in Everett to Tulalip Casino. The location was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and once inside the Orca Ballroom, more trees and wreaths filled the space. There was also another room that had many Silent Auction items.

Emory’s on Silver Lake once again sponsored the mini cocktails. We created the Bacardi Holiday Punch, and the Svedka Holiday Citrus, garnished with a strawberry slice. Both cocktails were a hit with the crowd, and the bartenders almost couldn’t keep up!

Bacardi Holiday Punch

1.5 oz. Bacardi Oakheart Spiced Rum or Bacardi Select
1 oz. pomegranate or cranberry Juice 0.5 oz. Lime Juice
0.5 oz. Vermouth (optional)
Shake with ice, strain into martini glass top with sparkling wine, and enjoy!

Svedka Holiday Citrus

2 oz. Prosecco
1.25 oz. Svedka 80 proof vodka
0.75 oz. Fresh squeezed lemon juice 1⁄4 oz. Simple syrup
1 strawberry

In the bottom of a mixing glass, muddle the strawberry into a puree. Add all ingredients except Prosecco. Add ice, cover, and shake vigorously for 7–8 seconds. Pour Prosecco into a chilled cocktail- martini glass, then pour the cocktail over it. Garnish with half a strawberry.

Emory’s on Silver Lake also sponsored a tree again this year. Emory’s wife, Molly, and daughters Lisa & Kelly decorated the beautiful tree that will be auctioned at the Gala Event on Thursday.

The design was “Old World Christmas”. It included many vintage decorations and colors, as well as an old red wagon filled with 12 old world wines. The tree was also accompanied by a life-size Santa with his own Christmas tree!

Emory’s enjoys continuing to be a part of this event, and fundraising to help children. You can learn more about the Festival of Trees by clicking here.
